Hello August

Hello August!

We are going on a bug hunt…..we are going to catch a big one….we are not afraid! In August it’s all about insects, bugs and other creepy crawlies. We will be taking our trail sheets and magnifying glasses on our walks and see which insects we can spot. Indoor we will use books, pictures, YouTube clips, songs, dance, drawings and paintings to explore the topic of bugs and insects further.

Resources to support learning at home for the month are:

Books of the month:
“The bad tempered ladybug”
“The very busy spider”
“The very quiet cricket”
“Superworm”

Song of the month:
“Incy Wincy Spider…”.
For those of you that wish to sing it at home here are the lyrics:
“The incy wincy spider climbed up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain.
So the incy wincy spider climbed up the spout again”
Don’t forget the finger and hand actions 😉

Early Years funding entitlement

If you are claiming early years funding entitlement for your 3/4 year old child from September and have not been in touch with us regarding hours and funding codes please do so by Friday, 26th August 2022. Thank you!

Waterproof dungarees

We are really pleased to announce that we are now providing waterproof dungarees for all munchkins that attend LMP! Each munchkin has their own blue pair! We will clean them regularly and swap them to bigger sizes as and when your child grows. Children grow out of clothes so quickly and having to replace waterproofs can be time and cost consuming for families. By providing them here we hope to take the stress out of replacing, having to buy new, hopefully adding a little to protecting our planet by passing them on preloved. Please continue to provide a waterproof coat and wellies for your child on the days they attend. If your child is currently a non-walker we have waterproof soft-booties we will dress them in so they can join in with daily outdoor play in wet or colder weather. We are also working on a handy video about how to layer your children’s clothing ready for forest play and play in colder months. Watch this space!

THANK YOU!

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank each family for their continued support and trust in us over the last academic year. We have had such lovely new children and families join us, and we thoroughly enjoy getting to know you all. They have settled and are settling in all very well. We are seeing four of our wonderful older children off to big school in a couple of weeks. Many we have looked after from a very young age. It’s been a privilege to be part of their lives, development and to get them school-ready. There will definitely be tears from our end as we prepare ourselves for not seeing their smiley faces on a regular basis, but oh my, how proud we will be! We can’t wait for those first day school uniform pictures and to hear how they are getting on.

In September/autumn we will have more new lovely children and families join LMP! We are so excited to get to know you all! Forgive us if we sound a little sentimental at this point, we are just so grateful for all your support and trust, and are proud of what we’ve achieved in the past 9 years, we couldn’t do it without you! So here’s a big thank you from the heart and we hope to throw a LMP family get together at Christmas where we can all celebrate in person and make up for all the social distancing we had to do over the past two years!

As ever, if there’s anything you’d like to chat to us about please get in touch.
We hope you all have a lovely week/weekend!
Janine & Tom
