May Planning
Our themes during May were Farm Animals & Transport. With the weather on the upside we took the munchkins on outings to Hartley Farm & Hope Nature Park where we were able to support the munchkins’ excitement and interest in animals. We know offering children first hand and real experiences fosters their learning in all areas of development. We also had fun incorporate animal & transport play activities into our daily play routines such as circle time, books, songs & rhymes, small world play, sensory play, arts & crafts etc.
Resources that supported learning at home for the month were:
Books of the month:
The Hungry Hen by Richard Waring
What the Ladybird Heard by Julia Donaldson
Freight Train by Donald Crews
Little Green Tractor by Iglobooks
Songs of the month:
Old MCDonald had a Farm
Big Red Bus
Lyrics to sing along at home:
A big red bus,
a big red bus
A Mini Mini Mini and a big read bus.
A big red bus,
A big red bus
A Mini Mini Mini and a big red bus.
Ferrari, Ferrari, a Mini, Mini, Mini and a big red bus.
Ferrari, Ferrari, a Mini, Mini, Mini and a big red bus.
