July Planning

We will be focusing on a summer theme and learning about feelings & emotions. We know that some of you have planned holidays in the next few weeks, we would love to hear what your munchkins enjoyed most during your time away. If you are happy to share pictures from your holiday we would love to include them during circle time. It is a wonderful tool to open up conversation with children and take their interests further. The feelings & emotions theme will be used to enforce the concept of using words instead of actions. With older munchkins, we will talk about different situations and ask how each child feels. We are planning to do this through role play activities, singing, arts & crafts and lots of group/circle time.

Resources to support learning at home are:

Books of the month:
Guess how much I love you by Sam McBratney

Songs of the month:
“If you’re happy & you know it”
For those of you that wish to sing it at home here are the lyrics:
If You’re Happy and You Know it
If You’re Happy and You Know it, Clap your Hands
If You’re Happy and You Know it, Clap your Hands
If You’re Happy and You Know it, then your face will surely show it
If You’re Happy and You Know it, Clap your Hands

Variations:
Angry: stomp your Feet
Sad: say boo hoo
Tired: go to sleep
